We would like to inform you that the Department of Russian as a foreign language at VSU offers many different courses of study. The form of learning Russian depends on individual abilities of an applicant: what language skills he already has, what his purpose at VSU is (to further his education at VSU or just to learn Russian language), what time he is ready to start and so on.



10 Months Pre-foundation Program. (From 1 of September till end of June) This course is for those who wish to study for a degree in any subject at the University. It helps you with Academic Russian and Study Skills as well as raising your general level of Russian. This program involves subject-specific language study as well as subject studies (such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computing and others) in Russian. Students who successfully complete the study and pass the proficiency examinations will be certified as having sufficient command of Russian and other subjects for study in a Russian university. The preparatory course tuition is 45000 rubles per year (approx. $1800)



Except of 10-month Russian course that starts in September and offers a group lessons, VSU has a bunch of small-group and individual courses.

All courses of Russian for small groups (3-4 persons in a group) may start at any time of an academic year if the group would be formed. You can find the description of these types of courses in the table below:

General course of Russian
1250 rubles (approx. $50) per week (10 hours/week)

Intensive course of Russian
4000 rubles (approx. $160) per week (30 hours/week)

Specialized* course of Russian
3000 rubles (approx. $120) per week (20 hours/week)

Summer course of Russian
4500 rubles (approx. $180) per week (20 hours/week)

Usually applicants choose the individual courses of study at our university. That is the form of learning Russian that we strongly recommend to the individual applicants. You may begin your studies in the most comfortable dates for you and study personally with a teacher. All of our teachers are high-qualified professionals. According to an individual agreement you may have one of the courses from the table below:

General course of Russian
240 rubles (approx. $10) per hour (minimum 10 hours/week)

Specialized* course of Russian
270 rubles (approx. $11) per hour (minimum 10 hours/week)

Summer course of Russian
400 rubles (approx. $16) per hour (minimum 10 hours/week)

*Specialized course means that except of learning the basic aspects of Russian language you will also get the deep learning in chosen field (technique, chemistry, economics, law, etc.)
